Expressing his deep regret at the passing of Professor Kevin B. Nowlan, the 
Chancellor of the National University of Ireland, Dr Maurice Manning said that ‘Kevin B. Nowlan was a clear and engaging lecturer, an encourager of students and an expert who placed all his learning and passion at the service of the city he loved’.
