Fulbright-NUI Scholar Award 2021-2022 Now Open for Applications

NUI is delighted to announce that the competition for Fulbright-NUI Scholar Award 2021-2022 is now open for applications.
This Award will enable early career researchers to complete post-doctoral or professional research or lecturing in the United States for a period ranging from 3 to 12 months.

Applicants can choose one of the following three categories of Fulbright-NUI Scholar Award:

  1. LECTURING: If the primary purpose of the project is to teach or team-teach at least one full semester course, applicants will be required to submit course syllabi.

RESEARCH: If the primary purpose of the project is to conduct research, applicants will be required to submit a research bibliography.

LECTURING/RESEARCH: If the project will include significant portions of both lecturing and research as defined above, candidates will be required to outline both activities in their project statement, as well as submit course syllabi and a research bibliography.

Successful candidates receive a monetary stipend, travel costs, accident and emergency insurance, visa administration, cultural and professional programming, and introduction to a vast international professional and academic network.

The National University of Ireland has collaborated with the Fulbright Commission since 2014 to offer a range of awards to NUI graduates. To date, this collaboration has supported 15 NUI graduates to undertake research in the USA across a range of disciplines as part of their doctoral and post-doctoral studies.

All applications for the Fulbright-NUI Scholar Award must be made directly to the Fulbright Commission. The application deadline is 4pm on 2 November 2020.
