Statement on the passing of Seóirse Bodley

NUI are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Seóirse Bodley on 17 November 2023. He had an incredible career, leaving behind a lasting legacy. It was our privilege to confer Seóirse with an honorary degree of Doctor of Literature for his contribution to Irish culture.

Seóirse’s contribution was immense and impactful. Education, broadcasting and composing were all fields where he left a legacy.
