Beezie’s Island is the affectionate name for Cottage Island, an island on the freshwater lake Lough Gill near Sligo Town.

The name comes from Elizabeth ‘Beezie’ Gallagher, was born in the 1860s on the island and lived there all her adult life. She died on the island in 1951. She was the last full-time resident on any island on Lough Gill.
