Dr Myrto Manolaki is a Lecturer/Assistant Professor at University College Dublin. She was awarded an NUI Grant for Early Career Academics in 2020.

Project supported by the NUI Grant Scheme:

Complex Analysis is a branch of Mathematics that focuses on the study of holomorphic functions. Apart from being a rich and beautiful theory on its own, it has innumerable applications in physics, engineering, and many contemporary areas of Mathematics. In the past few decades, radically new developments in several areas of Complex Analysis emerged. On the one hand, they were made possible by the interdisciplinary approach to important open problems of the area (such as the Riemann Hypothesis), bringing in techniques from a wide range of mathematical fields and applied sciences. On the other hand, deep connections appeared to connect seemingly far away areas of Mathematics.

This project aims to bring together early career researchers working on diverse areas of Complex Analysis to substantially advance knowledge in the field, exchange ideas and techniques and establish new collaborations. The long-term goal is to develop a strong mathematical network of young researchers in Europe and organize frequent mathematical activities of various types (workshops, seminars), including events for students. This initiative is of high importance since young researchers and especially women are under-represented in the field of Complex Analysis.
