A Travelling Doctoral Studentship in Quantum Gravity was awarded to Jack Enright, a graduate of University College Cork.

I studied Mathematics and Physics at University College Cork before completing a Masters in Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge. With the support of the NUI Travelling Doctoral Scholarship in Quantum Gravity, I will undertake a DPhil at the University of Oxford whilst also travelling to Cornell and UCC. I applied for this studentship because it encourages those associated with the NUI system to travel and collaborate with researchers across the globe. This studentship has given me the opportunity to be supervised by a world leader in ULVT physics at some of the best facilities in the world for this type of research. My doctoral research will focus on trying to probe the quantum nature of gravity via entanglement. Gravity has never given any direct evidence that it is a quantum entity. I hope to be the first to see that gravity is, in fact, quantum mechanical.
