Jennifer Kelly

Jennifer Kelly is a twenty six year old visual artist. She originates from a coastal village in County Meath, but has also lived in Dublin City centre for a large portion of her life.

Jennifer has recently graduated with a BA in Fine Art, Print. Prior to attending The National College of Art and Design, she participated in a portfolio preparation course to assemble a body of work for applications to higher level colleges. Jennifer has thoroughly enjoyed her time in NCAD as it has enabled her to learn technical skills and to gain an extensive knowledge of the art world. In the future, she wishes to combine her love of both art and engaging with people. She hopes to work towards a career in a community based setting and to work with a variety of individuals as she believes art is a wonderful tool to aid in wellbeing. Jennifer is currently taking some time doing volunteer work in order to meet new people, to teach and to gain more of an understanding of the world around her, before returning to education. She continues to explore ideas around collecting, through walking, observing and cataloging, as this is what inspires a large majority of her work.

Jennifer is extremely honored and excited to be a part of NUI’s wonderful art collection and to have received this year's prize. She extends a huge thank you to the college and to the wonderful team that she has worked with along the way.
