This is a truly celebratory year for higher education in the island of Ireland. It marks the Centenary of Queen’s University Belfast and of the National University of Ireland, institutions which have played a leading role in society both nationally and internationally. As Queen’s and NUI look towards our second century of partnership and progress, I am confident that our traditions of academic excellence and service to society will ensure that we play an even greater role on the world stage.
