The National University of Ireland has received confirmation from the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI) that its Higher Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma awards together with its non-major awards (minor, supplemental and special purpose) have now been placed in the National Qualifications Framework (NFQ). These NUI qualifications are awarded to students completing approved programmes at the following five recognised colleges: the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the National College of Art and Design, the Institute of Public Administration, Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy and Shannon College of Hotel Management. A full listing of all these awards will be available on the website shortly.
NUI is also participating in the process currently being undertaken by NQAI for the placement in the NFQ of awards pre-dating the Framework (and referred to as 'legacy' awards). These include awards in the constituent universities and recognised colleges.
