NUI is proud to have many illustrious graduates throughout the world. ‘Bloomsday’, 16th June, celebrates the life and works of one of its most famous sons - James Augustine Joyce - who matriculated in the Royal University of Ireland in 1899 and was conferred by that institution in 1902 with a BA (Modern Languages) at University College Dublin, Newman House, St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin. NUI founded in 1908 is the successor to the Royal University
