The NUI Calendar was first published after the establishment of the university in 1908. A full set of Calendars forms part of the NUI Archive.Traditionally, the Calendar is a retrospective record, containing records and events of the previous year. The current publication, published in 2008, covers the years 2004 to 2007 inclusive. For the first time, the main body of the Calendar is published in English and Irish, and cover such areas as the history of the university and its constituent institutions, the structure of its authorities, the officers of the various institutions, elections administered by NUI, PhDs awarded by each of the institutions (together with the theses titles) and NUI awards.
There are twelve appendices, containing comprehensive historical records, for example Members of Senate from 1909 to the present, Officers of Convocation 1910 to the present, Honorary Graduates 1908 to the present, Irish Historical Research Prize winners 1922 - the present, and the recipients of all NUI awards 2004 to 2007 inclusive.
