Honorary degrees to be conferred

At a special ceremony to coincide with the centenary of the University, the Chancellor Dr Garret FitzGerald  will confer honorary degrees on the following:

Sean Donlon, distinguished public servant	LLD
Professor Peter Gregson, Vice-Chancellor Queen’s University Belfast	DSc
Dr Diarmuid Martin, Archbishop of Dublin	LLD
* Thomas Hammarberg, Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe	LLD
Emily O’Reily, Ombudsman	LLD
Dr Tony Scott, President Royal Dublin Society	DSc
Professor Hildegard Tristram	DLittCelt

The conferring ceremony will take place in the Conference Centre Dublin Castle.

* The Commissioner, Thomas Hammarberg, will be unable to attend the conferring ceremony. His conferring shall be arranged for a suitable future date.
