By Order of the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, given on 15 November, 2024 the relevant dates in respect of the NUI Seanad Éireann Election 2025 are:

Friday 6 December 2024 All duly completed Forms of Nomination must be received by the Returning Officer at or before 12:00 noon at the NUI Office, 49 Merrion Square, Dublin 2 D02 V583 Candidates Profiles available here |
Issue of Ballot Papers |
Monday 30 December 2024 Ballot Papers will be issued to the electorate, by registered post. |

Wednesday 29 January 2025 at 11:00am (votes must be returned by post) |
Graduates of any member institution of the National University of Ireland who have received a degree (other than an honorary degree), and who are Irish citizens are eligible to vote in Seanad Éireann elections.
Only graduates whose names appear in the current register are eligible to vote at the time of an election.
As Seanad Éireann elections are conducted by post, it is essential that your postal address details on the register are up to date
Voting papers are posted to all registered graduates, no matter where in the world you live.
In line with legislation, the 2024 revision of the NUI Seanad Éireann register (published on 1 June 2024) will be used for the issuing of ballot papers for the 2025 election. The deadline for inclusion in the 2024 register was the 26th of February 2024.
